Abehaviour. Frank kicks off in Congress with a barnstormi­ng call to declare war on ISIS (or “ICO” as they coyly fictionali­se it in this series), while Claire has a deeply awkward meeting with the mother of the home-grown terrorist who committed a public execution at the end of season four. Meanwhile, trouble is brewing between Frank’s rival for the Presidency, Governor Will Conway (Joel Kinnaman), and his maverick, loose-cannon wife (Dominique Mcelligot). We’ve only seen the dazzlingly entertaini­ng opener, but after its hugely powerful closing scene, we already can’t wait to binge on the other 12 episodes of this new season.
