Love Island 2016’s Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey are giving things another go for the sake of their unborn child
Nothing says you’re back together like a babymoon, right?
We love a happy ending, so here’s hoping this one sticks. After devastating fans by cutting their whirlwind relationship short in April, Love Island alumni Cara de la Hoyde and Nathan Massey kept the surprises coming by announcing that they were expecting a baby together a month later. But while they insisted that they were nothing more than good friends, they’ve had a change of heart and are officially back together, just a couple of weeks before their baby boy arrives. And if these pictures of them enjoying a babymoon at a spa hotel are any indication, they’re very happy about it.
“They’ve never stopped loving each other and, in the last few months, have become really close and shown each other how important they are,” an insider close to the former Love Island winners tells heat. “The split was never bitter, but it was a difficult time for them – they’d just found out Cara was pregnant, but didn’t feel it was right for them to carry on as they’d been having problems for a while. Cara felt Nathan wasn’t as committed as he could be and she didn’t just want to stay together because she was pregnant. He felt it was a bit too soon for a baby and panicked.
“They’re taking things slow again, but friends think they’ll be moving in together once the baby’s born.”
Cara, 27, and Nathan, 25, first met on last year’s Love Island, and quickly became inseparable, moving in together in Essex after winning the show. Despite their split, they put on a united front after announcing their shock baby news, with both insisting to fans they were “best friends”. But in recent weeks, they’ve been teasing us with hints that a reunion is on the cards and have even been doing guest appearances on TOWIE, which is, of course, a real sign of showbiz commitment.
Now, we’re told, they’ve taken their relationship to the next level – this time, with conditions attached. “Cara wanted to give things another go – she feels the baby deserves that,” our source tells us. “But she wants Nathan to show how devoted he is to her as well as the baby. She’s told him he’s got to change and always put them first, otherwise she won’t put up with it.”
Over the past few weeks, the dad-tobe hasn’t appeared to leave his baby mama’s side, suggesting he’s heeding her warning. Yay for love! Now just do it all on TOWIE, please, so we don’t miss a moment.
We’ll need to have twins now
