Chelsea’s posh­est res­i­dent gives us his ver­dict on this sea­son’s boozy treats

When it comes to mat­ters of taste and so­phis­ti­ca­tion, Made In Chelsea star Mark-fran­cis Van­delli has ex­act­ing stan­dards, mak­ing him the per­fect per­son to put our se­lec­tion of Christmas cock­tails to the test. But is he an eggnog man or more likely to sip a porn-star mar­tini? “I feel that a cock­tail should be en­joyed not only in the glass, but also on the menu, and I can­not or­der some­thing called a ‘porn-star mar­tini’. I’m so sorry. Per­haps I’m a prude,” sighs Mark.

Mark in­sists there is more to en­joy­ing a cock­tail than meets the eye – from the pre­cise prepa­ra­tion, to the ves­sel it’s served in. Sip­ping Prosecco from a brown-hued glass, he de­clares, “What a lovely colour. The per­fect colour for a di­a­mond – a fancy, brown di­a­mond.”

Thank God he likes the glass­ware, as we have a feel­ing Mark is go­ing to be tough on our bar cart. Can he find a jewel of a drink in our Christmas spir­its? Time to find out…
