FRANKIE: ‘Now I can go to ice discos with Wayne’

Joining the cast of Disney On Ice has its benefits

-

She may be good at singing and dancing, but we were a little surprised to hear that Frankie Bridge had joined the cast of Disney On Ice. And when heat was invited down to Queens Skate Dine Bowl in London to train with the ex-saturdays star, we couldn’t wait to channel our inner Tonya Harding. But it was clear to see why Frankie, 29, was asked to take part in the show and not us, as despite revealing she’d only practised for a “couple of hours so far”, she looked pretty great skating on one leg and trying out spins. However, she’s getting nervous ahead of her debut.

“I’m just terrified I’m going to fall over and take the whole cast out with me,” Frankie – who’s making a guest appearance for two shows – tells heat. “I’ve not done that much skating before and I’m going to play a villager of Arundelle in the Frozen section, so hopefully I can hide behind the others. ”

Husband Wayne, 37, and their sons, Parker, four, and Carter, two, will be watching in the audience, and Frankie admits Wayne is more excited than the boys. “He really likes ice skating and has his own skates. He just loves a new hobby, ” she says. “He always wants to go to ice skating discos and I’m like ‘I’m not 15, let’s just go for dinner’. I can’t really say no now!” The boys probably won’t be bothered about my bit as they’re not into Frozen. They’ll be excited about Cars and Toy Story.”

Frankie looked in fab shape, but she told us that skating alongside trained dancers had its drawbacks. She says, “I felt good until I got on to the ice and saw how tiny all the other dancers were. I have to remind myself that they skate for a living, so exercise all the time!” n kate randall
