Family-run holiday business praised at awards

-

TORBAY’S Beverley Holidays has been named as one of Britain’s most outstanding family businesses at an awards ceremony at Wembley Stadium.

The Paignton park was among those selected to tread the red carpet at the 2018 National Family Business Awards after winning through to the glittering finals.

Founded 60 years ago by the same family which remains at its helm today, Beverley was the sole representative of the UK holiday parks industry at the prestigious event.

Organised by Britain’s largest network of family-run companies, the annual awards are designed to highlight the important roles played by family-run businesses.

Beverley Holidays, which employs around 180 team members in high season, was among those taking a bow at Wembley for supporting local economies and creating jobs.

Joining the VIP guest list was Beverley Holidays director Claire Flower whose grandparents, Stanley and Marion Jeavons, first set the business in motion in 1958.

Claire said: “It was great to be nominated for the National Family Business Awards, not least because the judges were looking especially at the quality of service offered to customers.

“This is where family firms often score highly because, like us, they know that their success has always been dependent on delivering consistently high standards.

“In fact, the vast majority of all our guests each year are either repeat visitors or those coming as a result of a personal recommendation, so we know the formula works!”
