Outdoor fun at church
A WEEKEND of outdoor fun and games is lined up at a town centre church.
St Mary’s in Hinckley will be hosting activies from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon (March 24 to 26), in and around its grounds, which are being transformed into a community garden.
The fun starts after-school on Friday, from 3.30pm and 5pm, with bug hunting and the chance to decorate a pot for Mothering Sunday.
Activities on Saturday will run from 10am until 4pm and including pot-decorating, composting talks for children and adults, storytelling, choral and accoustic music performances.
On Sunday there will be a chance to get hands dirty by helping to plant, weed and clear the churchyard, with refreshments to help keep volunteers fuelled.
The event is being supported by the People’s Postcode Lottery and the Master Composter Scheme run by Leicestershire County Council in partnership with Garden Organic.
