Police on road patrol warning

-

MOTORISTS using routes in and around Lutterworth and Broughton Astley are being warned of police traffic enforcement.

Officers will be on the lookout for drivers flouting the rules of the road, including speeding, not wearing a seatbelt, being drunk or high on drugs and using a mobile phone while at the wheel.

The next date for action is Monday April 24, right after the Easter holidays.

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: “Along with speeding we will be looking out for other traffic offences including using a mobile phone while driving.

“Remember that from March 1 this year the fine rose to £200 and six points on your licence for being caught using a mobile while driving. Young, new drivers or those with existing points should be aware.”
