Holywell Inn pub re-opens

Hinckley Times - - NEWS -

A HINCKLEY pub has re-opened - less than a day after it shut down.

The Holywell Inn, on the junction of Park Road and London Road, was set to close down on September 2, only to be opened again the next day.

The restaurant-pub is owned by NewRiver property trust, which also owns The Woolcomber in Atkins Way, Burbage.

The landlord there, Thomas Lord, was asked to take over running the venue.

Mr Lord said: “We didn’t want it to close, and I enjoy managing The Woolcomber anyway, so I was happy to take it on.”

Normal service has now resumed including the pub’s popular Sunday lunches.

The Holywell’s opening hours will be as usual, from noon to approximately 11pm in the week, and from noon until midnight on weekends.

The Holywell was previously subject to an outline planning application by Newriver Property Trust No.4 in November last year.

A proposal to demolish the pub and build nine dwelling houses on the site was rejected by planning officers at Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council in January.
