New diocese chairman
THE Diocese of Leicester has appointed a new chairman of the Diocesan Board of Education (DBE).
Stephen Adshead, a project manager from Loughborough, is taking on the important role.
The board has oversight of all 97 church schools and academies, with some 22,000 pupils.
Mr Adshead said he is looking forward to working with director Carolyn Lewis to ensure good development and education for students, and to support reponses to continuing organisational changes.
The DBE works in developing governance and school leadership through appointments, training and development, overseeing church school land and buildings, and promoting quality religious education and collective worship.
It also carries out strategic planning for church school development and liaises with local and national partners.
Stephen Adshead is the new chairman of the Diocesan Board of Education, for Leicester Diocese.
