Mum to raise cash for hospital treating her daughter Eden
A YOUNG mum is organising a charity event in Hinckley to support her daughter’s battle with cancer.
Katy Jones, from Stoney Stanton, is raising funds for the children’s cancer treatment ward at Leicester Royal Infirmary, with a day of events at TKT Cheerleading, in Teal Business Centre.
Her three-year-old daughter, Eden, is currently being treated at the hospital, after she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in July.
Katy said: “The ward have a very long list of wishes and wants so we are hoping that the money we raise can be used to improve the facilities and provide the comforts that every child staying there craves.”
Visitors to the event can try out TKT’s trampoline and air track, with coaches on hand to teach a few routines.
There will be a raffle, teddy bear tombola, cheer routines and a chance to guess how many smarties there are in a giant cookie.
You can also get a photo with princesses Belle and Ariel, and Ariel may be doing a few songs.
Eden’s cousin, four-year-old Immy, is having her waistlength red hair cut off at the event, in aid of the Little Princess Trust.
A sweetie stall and a partylite stall will also be there, along with facepainting, glitter tattoos and nail polish stations.
Each event will have a small charge, with all proceeds going towards the Leicester Hospitals Charity.
Raffle tickets can be purchased in advance as well as on the day.
Prizes include signed Leicester Tigers shirts, a meal for two at The Blue Bell in Stoney Stanton, and a Triumph goody bag.
If you want to donate a prize to the raffle, message Kate Jay, Katy’s Facebook profile.
You can also donate to the cause on Eden’s Just Giving page, a crowdfunded page meaning all the money goes towards the ward.
Check the Eden’s Charity Fundraiser Facebook page for more details, which Katy will be updating with raffle prizes and more information in the build up to the day.
The event is happening on September 30, from 1pm to 4pm.
Entry is £1 per person, with children under 12 going free, unless they are a TKT cheerleader, who have to pay an entry fee.
