Court date for hoaxer

A MAN will face charges re­lated to a bomb hoax that caused chaos at Hinck­ley rail­way sta­tion last month.

Leon Harris, 32, of no fixed ad­dress, will ap­pear at Le­ices­ter Crown Court on October 19.

He is charged with one count of ob­struct­ing the rail­way and one count of com­mu­ni­cat­ing false in­for­ma­tion al­leg­ing the pres­ence of a bomb.

Harris was re­manded in cus­tody af­ter ap­pear­ing be­fore jus­tices at Le­ices­ter Mag­is­trates’ Court on Thurs­day, Septem­ber 21, charged in con­nec­tion with an in­ci­dent at the train sta­tion.

Armed po­lice evac­u­ated a train at the sta­tion, which was tem­po­rar­ily closed, dur­ing the drama on Wednesday, Septem­ber 20.

They swooped on the Birm­ing­ham New Street bound train shortly af­ter 1.30pm.
