Two village pubs broken into
POLICE are investigating after two village pubs were broken into under the cover of darkness.
Raiders targeted the Nags Head in Stapleton sometime between 12.30am and 2am on Monday November 13, while the Bulls Head in Nailstone was attacked between midnight and 7am.
The landlord of the Nags Head discovered the burglary and found a window smashed and internal doors damaged.
The takings from the weekend had been stolen. Police have obtained CCTV footage from the pub and will be analysing it as part of the inquiry.
The two taverns are just under six miles away, a five minute drive down the A447 Ashby Road.
A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: “We were called at 6.40am to a report of a break in of a premises on Main Street Stapleton then at 7.10am we received a call reporting a burglary on Main Street Nailstone.
“We are keeping an open mind as to whether they are linked and our inquiries are continuing.”
Officers are appealing for anyone with information on the incidents to contact them on 101 referring to incident number 87 of 13/11/17.
