Singer song­writer takes to stage at the Act

SONG­WRITER and mu­si­cian Chris Wood will be top­ping the bill at Hinck­ley Act on Fri­day Novem­ber 17.

Singing his own com­po­si­tions for fid­dle, vi­ola and gui­tar, Wood is pas­sion­ate about English tra­di­tional dance mu­sic but boasts a reper­toire in­clud­ing much French folk mu­sic and Que­be­cois ma­te­rial.

A mem­ber of Wood, Wil­son & Carthy, with Roger Wil­son and renowned folk mu­si­cian Martin Carthy, who per­formed at the Act last month, Wood’s lat­est al­bum So Much To De­fend has been crit­i­caly ac­claimed.

He will be sup­ported by singer song-write gui­tarist Leon Gorm­ley.

The event, at the Watling Close venue, starts at 8pm, with park­ing on site.

Tick­ets cost £15 or £14 for mem­bers and are avail­able, with more in­for­ma­tion, on­line.
