FIRSTLY I ap­plaud the fact that you car­ried out your duty as a news­pa­per to re­port all mat­ters wor­thy of com­ment, how­ever ab­hor­rent it may be to some.

It can be a mat­ter of de­bate where it is placed but par­ents and teach­ers go to lengths to en­sure their chil­dren are taught to read as soon as pos­si­ble and there­fore can­not blame the source of their read­ing ma­te­rial.

No one crit­i­cises re­ports of the grisly mess of mo­tor­way mad­ness to be read by all so the horse in­ci­dent is well cov­ered by law and will be suit­ably dealt with.

I note that not all of your crit­ics are will­ing to be iden­ti­fied. John Charl­ton
