Job on offer as a ranger at Bradgate Park

MOST people would agree there are not many better ways to spend a day in Leicesters­hire than wandering around Bradgate Park.

Whether it is a brisk walk on a crisp day or a leisurely stroll as the sun beats down, being surrounded by the beautiful landscape is always a pleasure.

So, what better a way to earn a living that being able to spend every day there, by becoming a ranger at the park.

The Bradgate Park Trust has issued a job vacancy to join its team, with applicatio­ns open until Monday, March 26.

It is looking for a “team player who, in addition to having experience and relevant qualificat­ions in countrysid­e management, woodland management and estate maintenanc­e is able to lead guided walks”. The salary for the role is £21,551 annually.

The main job purpose will be “to maintain the Bradgate Park estate in good condition and to enhance the wildlife habitats on the estate in accordance with the current management plan and to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors”.

It added: “We welcome around 500,000 visitors each year and the ranger team are involved in both the management of the physical estate and ensuring our visitors have a safe and enjoyable visit.”
