B-movies thrived on con­cerns about the ef­fects of atomic ra­di­a­tion. In this 1955 film, ara­dioac­tive man goes on a quest to de­stroy his evil clone.

EARLY LEARN­ING

Toy­mak­ers got in on the act. This lab kit con­tained real ra­dioac­tive ma­te­ri­als, but was ap­par­ently harm­less and stressed the peace­ful uses of atomic en­ergy.
