Homebuilding & Renovating - - PORTFOLIO -

The owners of this contemporary home in London were keen to build on land they owned behind their Victorian property, and called on Facit Homes ( to make their dreams a reality. Offering a one-stop-shop solution, Facit handled everything from the design, site surveys and 3D walk-throughs to planning, build and internal fit-out. The company’s digitally manufactured Facit Chassis™ forms the structure of the building, which boasts thermally efficient timber components complete with integrated plumbing, electrics and MVHR (mechanical ventilation with heat recovery) ducting.

“Every window, cable, duct and pipe is considered in its design, so the Facit Chassis™ is ready for them to be installed. This speeds up construction, removes the need to re-work anything on site and ensures clean lines across the home,” explains Rhys Denbigh from the company.

The result is a two-storey home designed to their exacting specifications, and completed in just seven months. The exterior is clad in Thermowood and cedar cladding coated in a dark stain to reduce the visual impact of the building from the adjacent park. Large triple-glazed windows from Velfac and an EPDM roof membrane complete the picture.
