THE LONG NIGHT OF THE MUSEUMS

On the night of 19th August 2017 you can get a thoroughly different perspective of Berlin’s museums, as they open their doors throughout the small hours. More than 100 museums and cultural institutions in the city take part – including art galleries, planetariums and laboratories – in this popular annual event, now in its 37th run, plus there are workshop, films and music to enjoy. OPEN HERITAGE DAY

Many of the city’s most historic landmarks and buildings, which are not usually accessible to visitors, throw open their doors on this national heritage day, which takes place on 10th September 2017. Free to participate, this year’s events fall under the theme of macht

und pracht, or ‘power and splendour’. Experts, such as archaeologists and craftsmen, will offer guided tours at the participating venues, and there will be one- off exhibitions, giving you extraspecial insight into some of Berlin’s finest addresses. tag-des- offenen- denkmals.de
