This lavish piece was gifted to a man who helped Sir Cosmo and Lady Duff-Gordon board the RMS Carpathia as they fled the ill-fated RMS Titanic in 1912. It’s expected to pique interest among Titanic collectors as it was rumoured at the time that Sir Cosmo bribed rescue crew not to return and save others, even though the lifeboat wasn’t full.
