Ian Mankin has been producing beautiful classic-contemporary cotton fabrics from its Lancashire mill for more than 30 years. Its new wool collection features jacquard designs in dyed Shetland wool. Managing director Simon Blackley tells us more.
Wool is part of the UK’S heritage.
Despite it being a natural fibre, it can also be seen as a performance material because its properties mean it can be used for all sorts of things, from curtains and cushions to upholstery and carpets.
Our first wool collection, Ashfield, brings a whole new feel to Ian Mankin’s range of woven fabrics.
We dye the fibres in subtly di≠erent colours to create a soft almost heather-like look.
As there is currently a renewed interest in stripes and geometrics,
we’ve extended some of our designs to include the much-loved paisley.
