WHICH WALL LIGHTS ARE BEST FOR READING IN BED?

I’d like designs that will work when only one of us wants to read. Any ideas?

Bead light bedhead lights are a favourite with hotels, airlines and cruise ships for their focused, glare-free beam using tiny optically pure glass beads. The designs include Cirrus (left), from £399, beadlightcollections.com. This can be mounted on a wall or headboard and the leather-clad arm has 360-degree rotation with the lamp head in a choice of metal finishes. Another option to consider is the High Definition wall light, £349.99, from Serious Readers, 0800 028 1890, seriousreaders.com. With its extended flexible arm it offers a softer, more natural light than a standard LED and is comfortable for reading in bed, especially if bedlinen is white and bounces light back. Also offering a flexible arm for targeted lighting is the Fosso (left), £112, Holloways of Ludlow, 020 7602 5757, hollowaysofludlow.com, which is available in five finishes.
