Owned and bred by Lindsay Moffat, the exciting five-year-old EV Amore Mia was at just her second BD competition.

“She’s a brilliant horse, with such a willing attitude; loves her job and getting it right. She’s a pleasure to ride,” said Jade, who rode the mare to 73.89% in the novice freestyle.

Jade also scored a day-high of 78.65% to lead the elementary freestyle with AHS Liana. The sixyear-old mare is co-owned with Jade’s mother Debbie and was purchased from her breeders at Aragon House Stud as a yearling.

“She’s huge and has taken time to settle into herself. She hasn’t been the most straightforward horse but now she’s feeling confident and so much stronger,” added Jade, whose trainer Jill Grant also collected wins at PSG and advanced medium.

Shona Leckie, 15, rode two plus-70% elementaries. She enjoyed a first outing with new ride Apart to win with 74.67%, and scored 72.33% with the recently gelded pony Cordici K.

“We’ve only owned Apart for six weeks,” explained Shona’s mother Irene. “They are still getting used to each other. Shona is taking both horses to the Sheepgate under-25 championships and she is looking forward to wearing her tailcoat for the juniors for the first time.”

At Fountain Dressage, organiser Victoria Gladwyn found time to compete, winning two mediums and scoring 71.96% in one with Sonnersted.
