HAT SCHEME IS TO BE EXTENDED
COMPETITORS at this year’s British Riding Clubs (BRC) eventing championship (4-6 August) will be able to take part in a hat safety scheme.
The British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) hat bounty scheme, launched with British Eventing last year, has been extended to cover the competition.
The initiative means any rider who suffers concussion while competing will be given £100 to put towards a replacement skull cap bought from a BETA retailer.
Damaged helmets will be sent to BETA to be used in safety research.
