IWT said it always recommends trailers are serviced regularly.

“All distributors are fully equipped and trained in servicing our complete range of trailers. As with any vehicle, regular maintenance and servicing is essential to keep the vehicles roadworthy. After a period of time, all wearable parts will need replacement.

“If a customer has any concerns, we suggest they contact the distributor they purchased the trailer from, or their nearest distributor. A trailer check will determine if servicing and/or repairs are required.

“A full range of spare parts is available to purchase directly from IWT spares or from our nationwide network of distributors.”

The spokesman said IWT was unable to comment on individual cases, but encouraged owners to speak to the company’s customer care team “who will help resolve any concerns owners may have relating to any technical issues with their trailer. We are also able to assist customers by resolving any issues within our distributor network, if service standards have fallen beneath the expected level.”
