‘HE’S THE HORSE TO TAKE ME TO TOKYO 2020’
HEARTS DESTINY, a new ride for Holly Smith, looked to have all the attributes of a top jumper, taking joint first place in the five-fence challenge.
The eight-year-old former working hunter also put in a promising performance in the grand prix, with just a green mistake in an airy double of verticals putting him out of contention.
“His breeder sent him to me a couple of months ago to try, as she’d gone as far as she could with him in workers and believed he was a jumper — I’ve now bought him,” said Holly. “He was jumping Foxhunters a couple of months ago so he’s very green but I believe he’s the horse to get me back on teams — he’s scopey and careful with a lot of blood and an easy temperament.
“I’ve got the 2020 Olympics in my sights and I believe he’s the horse to get me there.”
