Chloe Reid’s star partner, who made three Nations
Cup appearances for Team USA and finished third in last July’s five-star grand prix in Falsterbo, has died suddenly aged 11. An autopsy revealed the stallion had cancer.
Eventer turned para dressage rider Charlotte Cundall has taken the ride on the 12-year-old KWPN gelding. Bambam was previously campaigned internationally at inter I level by Rob Waine, and competed by para gold medallist Natasha Baker.
The stallion showjumper has died at the age 29. Among his successes was victory in the 2002 World Cup finals in Leipzig, under Germany’s Otto Becker. “He was fit to the end and had a very good life,” said Otto.
