CHOOSE THE RIGHT TV FOR YOUR ROOM

House Beautiful (UK) - - Hb Project Living Room -

 Whatever the size of your living room, it’s the viewing distance that’s crucial. Ideally, the distance from your sofa to the TV should be 1.5 times the diagonal measurement of the TV screen.

 To save on space, wall-mount the TV – if it’s too dominant you can always hide it behind cupboard doors.

 For excellent picture quality, look out for 4K models. These have four times more pixels than a Full HD TV, providing a sharp image and rich colour. Most new TVs also have High Dynamic Range (HDR), an imaging technology that’s

all about colour accuracy.  A built-in smart platform lets you watch catch-up and on-demand services at the click of a button. Access to games and web browsing can all be done via your broadband connection.

 Today’s TVs are so slim, there’s not much space for quality speakers, so it’s a good idea to invest in a sound bar that sits in front of the TV or is wall mounted. Another option is a sound base, which increases the base levels and is designed to sit below the TV on a cabinet or stand. For full surround sound, place a 5.1 system of speakers by the

TV and behind your seating.
