cin­na­mon room in­fuser, fill a pan with wa­ter and add five cin­na­mon sticks and thin slices of ap­ple. As the mix­ture heats, the aroma will fill your home. Keep on a low heat and don’t let it burn dry.

To make pot pourri, cut thin slices of or­ange and lemon, blot the ex­cess juice with kitchen pa­per and dry in a warm oven. Mix the slices with fresh pine cones, cin­na­mon sticks and a few star anise. Or add a few drops of es­sen­tial pine oil (from Hol­land & Bar­rett) to the branches of your Christ­mas tree.
