How It Works - - SPACE -

The Vik­ing 1 space­craft be­comes the first to ever land suc­cess­fully on the sur­face of Mars. It re­mains op­er­a­tional for more than six years, search­ing for signs of life on the Red Planet and tak­ing stun­ning images of the Mar­tian sur­face.
