Clyne set for long spell on side­lines

LIVER­POOL de­fender Nathaniel Clyne has po­ten­tially been ruled out for three more months af­ter un­der­go­ing surgery on a back prob­lem.

The Eng­land in­ter­na­tional has not fea­tured all sea­son be­cause of the is­sue and faces a fur­ther lay-off af­ter he had an op­er­a­tion on Mon­day.

Ear­lier this month man­ager Jur­gen Klopp ad­mit­ted Clyne’s re­cov­ery had gone back­wards. ■■For­mer Mother­well and Wolves man­ager Mark McGhee has taken over as first-team coach at Bar­net.

The 60-year-old, who most re­cently worked as Gor­don Stra­chan’s as­sis­tant with Scot­land, re­places Rossi Eames.

McGhee be­gins his role with Satur­day’s Sky Bet League Two trip to Port Vale.
