Volunteers needed to spruce up Golcar
A GROUP set up to enhance Golcar is having a spring clean day and needs more volunteers.
The event will be on Sunday, April 29, starting at 10am and finishing around 3pm and is organised by Golcar Lily Environment Group (GLEG).
Group chairman Matt Ellis said the team will be putting new plants in and around the flowerbeds on Town End, weeding, pruning, picking up rubbish, painting bins and old rails black, working with scouts to make bug houses and hotels for the small wood opposite Colne Valley Museum and starting to put steps in the footpath in the small wood.
The meeting point is on Town End near the bus shelter where people will need to sign in to make sure organisers have their contact details and they can pick up a hi-vis vest.
The group is organising a Photographic Competition and silent auction for Golcar Lily Day on Saturday, May 12, to raise money for Golcar Lily Day and GLEG.
