Lot­tery boost will help fund his­tory of Hep­worth

Holm­firth Par­ish Church in Septem­ber 2018 where the project will be its main fo­cus.

At the Hep­worth Feast Day event the So­ci­ety’s vol­un­teers will dis­cuss the project and en­cour­age peo­ple with mem­o­ries, pho­tographs and anec­dotes of Hep­worth to share them.

So­ci­ety chair­man Ian Steven­son said: “We are thrilled to have re­ceived sup­port thanks to Na­tional Lot­tery play­ers and are con­fi­dent the project will en­able a bet­ter un­der­stand­ing of the his­tory of the vil­lage of Hep­worth en­sur­ing that it is pre­served for many years to come.”

Hud­der­s­field & District Fam­ily His­tory So­ci­ety is a char­ity with 900 mem­bers world­wide and around 50 vol­un­teers, with a re­search room in Meltham which is open to mem­bers and vis­i­tors through­out the week.

Its main aims are to ad­vance pub­lic ed­u­ca­tion in fam­ily his­tory and ge­neal­ogy.
