Lottery boost will help fund history of Hepworth
Holmfirth Parish Church in September 2018 where the project will be its main focus.
At the Hepworth Feast Day event the Society’s volunteers will discuss the project and encourage people with memories, photographs and anecdotes of Hepworth to share them.
Society chairman Ian Stevenson said: “We are thrilled to have received support thanks to National Lottery players and are confident the project will enable a better understanding of the history of the village of Hepworth ensuring that it is preserved for many years to come.”
Huddersfield & District Family History Society is a charity with 900 members worldwide and around 50 volunteers, with a research room in Meltham which is open to members and visitors throughout the week.
Its main aims are to advance public education in family history and genealogy.
