Heath batter Hullensians

Hull Daily Mail - - SPORT -

HULLENSIANS paid the price for a slow start, going down 40-12 at Heath.

They had hopes of springing another surprise, but were fazed in the first half by Heath’s physicality, conceding four first-half tries, three converted, to trail 26-0.

Heath scored another converted try after the restart before Hullensians snapped into action.

Hullensians closed the gap when Tommy Sawden span out of a tackle to score a good try, but messed up the conversion attempt.

Jonny Clarke also crossed the line on his back to place the ball down, but the referee was too far behind play to see it before Heath were able to lift it up again.

Heath added another converted try, before Hullensians scored a second try by Tony Smith, with Sawden on target with the conversion.

Hullensians were unlucky to have a seemingly good try by Ian Irvin ruled out as the referee was again unsighted.
