Your new portable Mac camera

Your iphone can now snap and insert photos into Mac docs in an instant.

On occasion new features arrive that make you sit up with your faith restored in the ability of technology to impress in ways that it has not before and one feature in Mojave does just that. Historically Macs do not include cameras of the same quality as iphones, which is perfectly understandable because you would usually not want to take photos with a larger device. But Apple has found a way around the problem by seamlessly allowing you to take iphone snaps using your Mac in seconds.

1 A simple optionWhile in a document, within most apps, navigate to Edit>insert From Your iphone and then click ‘Take Photo’. Your iphone camera automatically opens.

3 Insert and editThe photo will immediately be inserted into the document you are editing and you can now use it as you need to. So clever.

2 Capture the momentTake the photo you need on your iphone and then tap ‘Use Photo’ in the bottom right-hand corner. It will be automatically inserted.
