Urban Banx and Sweden
Carl – Isn’t it typical that the best fishing conditions so far this year have coincided with the end of the river season and my job becoming extremely busy. One of the many things I’ve been up to recently at Nash was heading out to film a park lakes Urban Banx special with Alan Blair. Unlike the other Urban Banx films I have worked on, this one is going to be more instructional and advice based. Many people have asked Alan about his tactics for fishing park lakes so that’s what we set out to do in this production. I can’t give too much away about where we fished or what was caught, but it was an action-packed session! The film will be coming to NashTV soon (as soon as I have returned from a sneaky trip to Sweden and actually got back to the editing). Talking of Sweden, Alex and I have been planning a trip to go and fish with a guy called Tobias Ekvall. As I write this all our gear is packed and camera batteries are charged ready for a solid week of filming. Tobias is a great angler with a stack of huge perch and pike captures to his name. We have been speaking to him for months about the trip and listened to his stories of huge perch (over 4lb) and crazy days where catching 30 or more pike on lures is average! To say we are excited is an understatement. Tonight I have a huge stack of editing to get through, however once that’s done all the memory cards are being wiped, lenses cleaned, cameras charged and then we are off. Off to try and break a PB. I can’t wait.
Monster perch await us in Sweden. We hope!
In Sweden, it is normal to catch 30 pike in a day!
