LET'S HAVE A BIT MORE COURTESY ON THE BANK

- DAVE ACTON, VIA EMAIL

I was fishing at a local commercial recently and by the end of the day I went home with a mighty headache. Why? Because the angler on the next peg was using bite alarms that were set ridiculously loud! Fishing is a sport where we share a facility with dozens of others and we should all take this into account. There is no doubt that technology such as bite alarms plays an essential part in modern day angling but it is important to consider how you use them. If you are sat right next to your rods, it is highly unlikely that you need them turned up to the top volume to hear a bite! I’ve seen similar poor conduct with things like bait boats being driven carelessly into other people’s swims and feeders being cast into territory that doesn’t belong to that peg. Make sure you think about those around you before tackling up this month so that everyone can have an enjoyable day on the bank.
