THIS MONTH: SHOT TYPES AND SHOTTING PATTERNS

Improve Your Coarse Fishing (UK) - - Tactics -

SHOTTING plays a bigger part in your success than many people realise. It is often seen as simply a way to make your float sit properly in the water. But it does a lot more than that. What you place on your line can play a huge part in the presentation of your rig and will drastically reduce the number of tangles you suffer. Make the correct decisions when it comes to shotting and you’ll end up with a lot more fish going in the net.

BIG SHOT When locking a waggler in place it is best to have one or two SSG shot as opposed to several smaller ones. This helps to prevent tangles ROUND SHOT They never move and are best when you need your pattern to remain in the same place
