Shattered Denise takes her exam
HER FUTURE IS ON THE LINE AS SHE TAKES HER EXAM…
Denise is a bag of nerves this week, as the day of her English literature exam dawns – but is she in a fit state to make the grade?
The past few months have been hellish for Denise. She gave birth to her son before having him adopted, she was injured in the Walford bus crash, and she lost her job at the Minute Mart – leaving her cash-strapped and starving as she fails to find new work.
Despite being in dire straits, she’s refused to give up on her studies – or ask anyone for help. So when she arrives for her exam having not been able to afford a decent meal in a long while, is her stubborn pride about to cost her dear?
“You can’t blame D for wanting to prove herself – though it’s anyone’s guess how she’s made it to exam day in one piece!” insists our Walford sneak. “Yes, she’s had it hard, but there’s no shortage of people who’d have fallen over themselves to help her – and instead she’s chosen to keep pushing them away.
“Denise and her sister Kim are arguing constantly, and her
her situation has become. Instead, she heads off for her exam, continuing to hope a decent qualification might somehow turn her life around…
“The very last thing Denise should be feeling right now is shame,” wails our spy. “What she’s managed to achieve in the past 12 months is nothing short of a miracle. She was terrified about going back to education after all this time, yet she’s stuck at it through thick and thin. But what’s the point of an exam certificate if her health is deteriorating?”
Fragile Denise’s future is hanging in the balance as she sits down and turns over her paper – though for how much longer can she put herself to
the test like this?
