Ken: has he found his attacker?

THE HORRIFIED BARLOW THINKS HE KNOWS WHO TRIED TO KILL HIM…

- Kate White

Traumatised Ken finally remembers key moments of the night that he was attacked this week – and is ready to name the person who attempted to kill him!

His shock accusation comes after more than a month of speculation over which of the Barlow clan tried to end his life. But an action-packed week – which sees a kidnap, an arrest and new evidence come to light – ends with Ken suddenly uncovering the final clue to his attacker. So who will be named as his potential killer? ADAM’S ADAMANT

The week begins with Ken’s rattled grandson Adam on the warpath. Now that Tracy’s innocence has been proved – despite her false confession – Adam knows he could still be in the frame. So, he decides to take action and bundles Daniel into the boot of his car, driving him to a deserted car park for a showdown. But if Adam is trying to get a confession out of Daniel, does that mean he definitely didn’t do it?

“Well, you never know with Adam, maybe he thinks that if he applies enough pressure, he can manoeuvre Daniel into a position where he’ll become the prime suspect,” says our Corrie snoop. “Adam is a sneaky one, and we wouldn’t put it past him to frame his own uncle…”

Having failed to record any incriminating evidence on his phone during their heated chat, Adam makes another shock move when they arrive back on Coronation Street – he calls the police to name Daniel’s girlfriend, Sinead, as Ken’s attacker! But did she really do it?

SINEAD’S SINS?

Of course, Sinead had a strong motive to attack Ken, with her cursing his name on the night he was pushed. When the police arrive to take her in for questioning, will she be forced to admit that Ken pressured her into terminating her pregnancy – which would place her as the prime suspect?

Meanwhile, the events of the week take a heavy toll on Daniel. He’s horrified by Adam’s behaviour, Sinead’s arrest, and what’s happening to his family. But Roy gets suspicious when he hears that Daniel is planning to leave Weatherfield in order to return to his old flat.

“Daniel had an alibi – a tram ticket that proves he wasn’t on Coronation Street that night – but the police reveal that they’ve found a discrepancy in his story,” our insider tells us. “And straight after that, Daniel says he’s off to his old flat ‘to study’ – but his decision is mighty suspicious…”

IF THE SHOE FITS

However, the real drama kicks off when Ken arrives to talk to Sinead and apologise about what went on with the baby. He asks Sinead to forgive him, but as he goes to leave the flat she shares with Adam and Daniel, Ken see a particular pair of trainers and his memory is jogged – they were worn by the person he thinks attacked him!

After spotting the offending articles, Ken confronts one of the three and asks them if the trainers belong to them. As the owner gives their answers, has Ken solved the mystery of his attacker?
