Terese & Gary to tie the knot

WHAT WILL SCHEMING BROOKE HAVE TO SAY?

Gary goes to extreme lengths to win back his former flame Terese this week – by getting down on one knee and proposing to her!

Terese only recently ditched Gary, convinced he was secretly shacking up with his conniving ex Brooke. But Gary is determined to prove that he only has eyes for Terese…

“The proposal comes out of the blue,” explains Rebekah Elmaloglou, who plays Terese. “The two of them have been having a few dramas in recent times with Brooke coming back on to the scene. So Gary decides the only way to convince Terese that he loves her is to propose. He bursts into her house and gets down on bended knee!”

Terese is overwhelmed by the romantic gesture and instantly agrees to become the next Mrs Canning. But there are shocked faces all round when the pair announce their happy news during Xanthe’s birthday party – particularly from Brooke, who was hoping to win Gary back herself.

“Terese is fully aware of Brooke’s intentions,” shares Rebekah. “But while she may have some concerns, Gary is engaged to her now – she has her man!

“Xanthe and Piper are both very excited, because it means they will end up as step-sisters,” continues the actress. “Sheila is as surprised as everyone else, but she knows Terese is a good catch for Gary, so she embraces the situation.”

If Sheila has anything to do with planning her son’s big day, it will certainly be colourful! However, Rebekah hopes her alter ego will put her foot down and demand something tasteful…

“They have both been married before, but I would imagine Terese would want something fairly elaborate,” chuckles the star. “She has very good taste, so Terese wouldn’t want anything too over the top – I think she’d go for something in a more traditional vein.”
