That Doc Martin’s a strange one: he works for eight weeks at a time and gets two years off in between, and he’s still always miserable. If we had a work-life balance like that, we’d be cocka-hoop. Anyway, we’re back in Portwenn tonight for a new series, and everyone’s excited about Joe and Janice’s wedding.

Joe is a little nervous when he discovers that the wedding will be performed by Rosie Edwards, the new curate (“Think of me as a vicar with learner plates on”) and that it will be her first time conducting such a ceremony.

And after she questions how committed the couple are, and then there’s an outbreak of choking at the pre-wedding party, the bride-and-groom-tobe are left wondering if they’re making a big mistake…
