By George
Christmas 2016 became notorious for what seemed like an endless stream of celebrity deaths, with bad news reported virtually every time we checked the headlines. The death of George Michael on 25 December at the age of 53 was particularly gloomy news, but his incredible musical legacy lives on – as does this one-off documentary that he co-directed last year. Narrated by the singer himself, it follows a particularly eventful period in his life where he fell in love for the first time, recorded Listen Without Prejudice Vol 1, and ended up in an acrimonious legal dispute with Sony Music. George’s friend Kate Moss provides an introduction to the film, which features interviews with Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Liam Gallagher and Mary J Blige.
