Tonight’s episode brings the cur­rent se­ries to an end, but as you might have spot­ted on p65, we’ll be back in Saint Marie early next year for an­other dose of post-christ­mas sun­shine.

Let’s fo­cus on the mat­ter at hand, though: Saint Marie’s reg­gae fes­ti­val is in full swing when Com­mis­sioner Sel­wyn turns up on of­fi­cial busi­ness:

Billy Springer (Levi Roots of Reg­gae Reg­gae Sauce fame), the gui­tarist in one of the bands, called him up to say he had new ev­i­dence re­gard­ing an un­solved case that has haunted the com­mis­sioner for 30 years.

But when Sel­wyn and Jack ar­rive to speak to him about it, he’s dead – ap­par­ently a sui­cide, though the tim­ing seems aw­fully con­ve­nient for some­one who was about to tip off the po­lice…
