Notes on a crime
Tonight’s episode brings the current series to an end, but as you might have spotted on p65, we’ll be back in Saint Marie early next year for another dose of post-christmas sunshine.
Let’s focus on the matter at hand, though: Saint Marie’s reggae festival is in full swing when Commissioner Selwyn turns up on official business:
Billy Springer (Levi Roots of Reggae Reggae Sauce fame), the guitarist in one of the bands, called him up to say he had new evidence regarding an unsolved case that has haunted the commissioner for 30 years.
But when Selwyn and Jack arrive to speak to him about it, he’s dead – apparently a suicide, though the timing seems awfully convenient for someone who was about to tip off the police…
