Speaking up THE ABUSED

Every week in Britain, two women are murdered by their current or former partners. In the hope of lifting the stigma around domestic abuse and encouraging others to speak out, two women – Hazel and Kelly – share their stories in this documentary. Hazel suffered her partner’s violence and controlling behaviour, and later learned that he had a history of domestic abuse – now she wants all women to be aware of their right to find out about their partner’s past. Kelly’s life was controlled by her husband, who made her feel worthless, and she had to overcome her own denial to inform the police.
