Japanese Performance - - NEWS -

The car with the longest name in recent history broke cover at the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed hillclimb recently. The new Subaru WRX STI Type RA NBR Special, is set to attempt a Nürburgring speed record with former British Rally Champion and stunt driver Mark Higgins behind the wheel. In fact, the RA stands for ‘Record Attempt’ and explains why they’ve generally been the lightweight models in the past. The first RA was actually a Legacy in ’89, that broke the FIA World Speed Endurance Record. Details of the STI RA NBR spec are thin on the ground but it’s possible Subaru will try and beat the 7m 53.08 lap time set by Revolution Motorstore in their Project STI.
