The Canterbury is one of three new showhomes opening this month at a new Marden development. Homes & Living took a look
The Canterbury is the largest of three new showhomes opening at The Parsonage, a Redrow development at Marden.
This is a house with a real sense of flow, with double doors opening from the lounge to the dining room, which leads into the kitchen and utility. There’s also a study where home workers can concentrate away from the distraction of family life, plus a cloakroom.
There are four good sized bedrooms, including master with en suite, plus a family bathroom.
Rachael Baillie, of Redrow Homes, says the developer’s previous site in Marden is now sold out.
She said: “Marden is a lovely village with a real sense of community and somewhere people are keen to live. We know from the success of Highwood Green that there’s an appetite for new homes in the area and we are looking forward to welcoming buyers to The Parsonage.
“People love how these homes, which are from our Heritage Collection, combine the architecture of the Arts and Crafts era with interiors designed to meet the demands of modern living.
While these traditional looking homes have been available at various locations across Kent since 2011, we’d invite buyers to take a fresh look as we’ve made some small changes to the designs that could make a big difference to purchasers.
“In some of the house types walls have been moved to increase the floor space, while across the collection the ceiling heights have increased, along with the height of the doors and windows.
“Other changes include new hipped roof pitches to allow more light into our developments and break up the streetscape.”

The new homes at The Parsonage, Goudhurst Road, are just a short walk from Marden Primary School making them ideal for buyers with children.
They’re also well-suited to those who work in the capital but want to relax away from the hustle and bustle as London can be reached in around an hour by train from the village station.
The village itself is home to a host of amenities including a butcher, convenience store, bank, post office and hairdresser, while a Waitrose and M&S Simply Food can be found in nearby Paddock Wood.
Redrow, developer of The Parsonage, has recently built and sold all homes at another Marden development, Highwood Green.
Redrow has agreed a programme of investment in the area with more than £500,000 allocated for schools.
Contributions will also be made towards playing fields, healthcare, cycle parking, the library, adult social services and community learning.
