Put your stamp on this recently closed pub
Ashford roofing company Regal Rooflines travelled 40 miles to give a woman free help after noticing on social media that she had been duped by cowboy builders.
Regal Rooflines helped the woman in Sidcup after they came across a post noting she had been left with a half-finished roof.
Company owner Danny Hodges went along to assess the damage and fixed it free of charge. He said: “She burst into tears. It’s good to help someone.” Could a new life be calling, as a recently closed seaside pub goes under the hammer at auction?
The Royal Mail pub in the village of Lydd closed earlier this month.
The large building on Park Street has two bars, four letting rooms plus residential accommodation above.
Kevin Gilbert, auctioneer, said: “This is a large building and could have a variety of commercial uses. For example it might be used as a hotel, restaurant or bed and breakfast premises. And if permission is obtainable it might be redeveloped for residential accommodation.
“Either way it is anticipated that there will be great interest.”
The freehold guide price fis £180,000 to £200,000. This sale is on Tuesday, May 2 at the Clive Emson Conference Centre in Detling, beginning at 11am.
The pub is among 137 lots listed for sale.
