Chatham

Chatham is home to one of Britain’s leading maritime heritage destinations and the world’s most complete dockyard from the ‘age of sail’.

St Mary’s Island, once part of the Royal Naval Dockyard has views across the River Medway.

While Chatham is well served with shopping and leisure attractions, there are a host of facilities available on St Mary’s Island including a wide range of bars, restaurants and other amenities in Jetty 5.

The Dockside Outlet Shopping Centre is next to the bridge leading onto the island and includes a recently refurbished pub, supermarket and more than 70 shops.

Bluewater Shopping Centre is less than 15 miles away.

From Chatham station, direct rail services operate into central London in as little as 37 minutes and serve a range of mainline stations including St Pancras International, Victoria and Cannon Street.

The Kings Ferry coach travels direct from St Mary’s Island to Canary Wharf in less than an hour, the City in one hour and 20 minutes and Westminster in an hour and a half.

By road, the M2 allows rapid access to the M20, M26, M25, the Dartford Crossing and London Airports, as well as the Channel ports and tunnel.
