Town’s prices surge by 50%

House prices in Sand­wich have surged by 50% in the past decade ac­cord­ing to the lat­est re­view of sea­side towns by the Hal­i­fax.

It is named on a list of 20 sea­side towns to have recorded the big­gest in­crease in house prices be­tween 2007 and 2017.

The av­er­age home in 2007 cost £221,915 com­pared to £334,177 now, a rise of 51%.

Sand­banks in Dorset re­mains Bri­tain’s most ex­pen­sive sea­side town for the sec­ond year. The av­er­age price of a home there is £664,051.
