Cooking up show success
Ditton Community Centre was awash with beautiful blooms, vibrant vegetables and flawless fruits as the Kent Federation of Horticultural Societies held its annual autumn show.
There were a total of 325 exhibits at the Kiln Barn Road venue on Sunday, with green- fingered competitors vying for prizes in more than 70 different classes. As well as the show itself, there were cookery demonstrations or a chance to admire the displays with a cup of tea and slice of cake – homemade of course.
Show secretary Sandra Foreman said: “It is a popular show and a really friendly competition. In the five years we have had it in Ditton we have had more and more entries each year.
“The highlight were the magnificent dahlias and chrysanthemums.”
